Delta symbol (Δ δ): copy and paste
Delta is the fourth Greek letter. Capital delta (Δ) means change or difference (Δt = elapsed time); lowercase delta (δ) is used for small changes, partial derivatives’ cousin ∂, and the Kronecker delta.
Mac’s Option + J types the increment sign ∆ (U+2206) rather than the Greek letter Δ (U+0394). They look identical in most fonts; math typesetting treats ∆ as the “change” operator, so both are fine for Δx. Use the real Greek letter for Greek text.
