Heart symbol (♥ ♡ ❤): copy and paste
The black heart suit (♥) and white heart suit (♡) are text characters that work anywhere letters do and take the color of the surrounding text. The heavy black heart (❤) becomes the red ❤️ emoji when followed by the emoji variation selector.
Use ♥ or ♡ in usernames, bios and documents where emoji would look out of place. The colored heart emoji carry their own meanings in chat: 🖤 edgy or grief, 💙 trust, 💚 nature, 💛 friendship, 🧡 warmth, 💜 admiration, 🤍 purity.

How to type ♥ on Mac, Windows and phone
There is no keystroke for ♥ on the US Mac layout. Press ⌃ Control + ⌘ Command + Space to open the Character Viewer, search “heart” and double-click it. No keystroke on the US layout.
On Windows, hold Alt and type 3 on the numeric keypad (Num Lock on), then release Alt. Gives ♥. Other hearts: Win + . then search “heart”.
